This is a Brand New 4 port Corvette Style master cylinder, DISC/DRUM proportioning valve, bottom mount bracket, and the brake lines to hook the prop valve to the master cylinder.
This kit is for disc/drum applications.
The 1" Bore master cylinder is used for 4 wheel disc or drum brakes, This Master cylinder includes bleeder kit and plugs for the ports you don't use. In addition to the Master, this includes Brake Lines, Bottom Mount Bracket and DISC/DRUM Prop valve.
A disc brake combination valve is a necessity when you are doing a drum conversion. The combination valve will provide all the valving necessary in the system. The valves we provide will perform four functions:
PROPORTIONING​:
Proper proportioning in a disc/drum system will prevent the rear drum brakes from locking up under hard braking condition. As more force is applied to the brakes and the car leans forward. Less braking force is needed in the rear. The proportioning function of the valve will decrease the pressure transferred to the rear preventing rear lock up. Proportioning for a disc/disc set up is different from that needed from a disc/drum system. The 4 wheel disc valve handles this correctly.
METERING:
Metering is used in the front disc brake portion of the disc/drum system to delay the application of the front discs slightly allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up and contribute to the braking. This will provide rear stability on wet surfaces and prevent excessive front pad wear. There is no metering portion of the combination valve for disc/disc application.
RESIDUAL PRESSURE:
Drum brakes will require a residual pressure of 10 Lbs be held in the line. This pressure will keep the brake shoes out close to the drums giving you a higher, firmer pedal feel. The combination valve we use incorporates this to the rear. There is no residual valve in a disc/disc combination valve.
SYSTEM FAILURE WARNING:
Our combination valve incorporates a system failure switch which will alert you when one half of your braking system in not functioning properly.
