This lovely illustration for P & O Cruises, most likely inspired by the market of Cairo, comes from the talented James Grieg, who had a common theme of Middle Eastern cities and people in much of his artwork. Begun in 1934, the long-running P & O Cruises is still in operation today under the Carnival cruise line. Making its first appearance at Heritage, this poster has noticeable touchup to edge wear, pinholes, small chips, and tears in to the interior. There is also a vertical tear with minor paper loss in the center left background. The poster shows unaddressed stains, toning, and warping to the linen.
