    Description

This listing is for the very old, rare newspaper article from 1938. It is browning from age, but it is not torn. It has bends, but nothing serious. Someone wrote the year, “1938” on it in what appears to be pencil. On one side, it is about various baseball teams and how much money they made during the postseason, and even the bat boys and club house attendants got paid! There is mention of former Yankees manager, Joe McCarthy. Teams mentioned are Yankees, Cubs, Tigers, Giants, Reds, Red Sox, Pirates, and Indians. The other side of the article has Richard Arlen, playing a millionaire sportsman, singing opera centered around the ownership of a horse. Below it is an article on opera soprano, Bidu Sayao, of the Metropolitan Opera, going on tour. I don’t know just how rare this article is but did not find another one on this site. As of 2021, this article is eighty-three years old. You are buying one item that is two-sided. In other words, the baseball article is on one side, and the two small opera articles are on the opposite one. I didn’t measure the article, but it is small, maybe seven or eight inches long and around three inches across. The article was from when Joe DiMaggio, Lefty Gomez, Bill Dickey, Red Ruffing, and Red Rolfe played! Two Yankees named Red at the same time! Neat item! Feel free to make an offer. Thank you.
